Thank you for taking on the role of Company Coordinator!
Your involvement with your company's Corporate Challenge is incredibly important!
Company Coordinators
Your Responsibilities Include:
Acting as primary liaison between your participants and the Corporate Challenge
Recruit fellow employees to assist in organizing your teams
Form various committees
Communicate with your company’s managers to ensure they are aware of your involvement and the benefits to your company and its employees
Attending company coordinator meetings
Ensuring that registration forms, team rosters, etc. are completed and submitted on time
Distributing schedules, site maps, rules, team waiver forms, and other information
We encourage all coordinators to recruit as many employees as possible to coach and/or captain a team. A team captain can help take some work off your hands as you are coordinating all the events. We also encourage building committees such as a spirit committee and a volunteering committee.
Build your teams!
ORGANIZING YOUR TEAM:
Emphasize the fun and spirit of the games and that being a member of the company team is what is important, not athletic ability. There are enough fun sports and events for everyone to get involved.
It is vital to build your team of support within your company, recruit early, delegate responsibilities.
You will begin talking up the games with your company, get everyone excited and ready to go!
It is important to establish the teams captains and coaches early so they can begin recruiting team members.
Start with forming committees and recruiting team captains to take ownership!
A best practice is to recruit people to become team captains for each event.
Utilize those players who are passionate about various events and give them the opportunity to be a leader!
Team Captains
Team Captains will be important to you!
Recruit a team captain for every event, with some events the same captain can lead two or three different teams (men’s, women’s, mixed) Ideally select captains who have played or coached the sport they are leading. With some events it can be challenging to play in the competition as well as be the captain or coach.
These individuals will prepare your teams for play and assure that on game day your team is on time and ready to play!
Captains do not have to play to lead. Captains are an integral part of your Corporate Challenge Team as they are responsible for setting up practices, submitting rosters online, picking players, etc.
Idea: Recruit management as Team Captains
Spirit Committee
A Spirit Committee is not a requirement for each participating company, but does provide more support throughout the games and an opportunity for non-athletes to participate!
These individuals can rally your company to come out to cheer on your participants at the various events, design your shirts and perhaps order some of the other spirit related items for your company.
Some companies have mascots, others have banners made, and some even bring out the noise makers!
A Spirit Committee is a great way to get even more of your company involved and helps to ensure fan support at each of the events.
Volunteers
All participating Joplin Metro Corporate Challenge (JMCC) teams will have volunteers as part of their commitment to compete. Points are given for volunteering just like other events.
Participation Waiver
A waiver makes it clear that participation is voluntary and is an activity that happens outside of work.
It is MANDATORY for each participant to sign a waiver.
They will NOT participate in the events without a waiver.
